 Starting Your Own Chapter

Thanks for wanting to become active in the ACLU of Colorado family. Much of the work we do is in coordination with our chapters. Chapters have issue forums, hold rallies, participate in community street fairs and help the ACLU of Colorado know about activities and issues in their communities.

In order to be successful in forming a new chapter of the ACLU of Colorado, you need to have at least 25 ACLU members (or soon to be members) in your geographic area who want to participate. You will need officers, a board of directors and bylaws. There are also some regulations from ACLU National regarding fundraising, public relations and media contacts. Please email Dani at dnewsum@aclu-co.org with your contact information and the area in which you want to form a chapter in order to obtain more details and further assistance.
